Quality Assurance Engineer - Mobile & Devices

The position as Quality Assurance Engineer is sorted under the QA department of Opera Software ASA. The main task of this department is to ensure that all Opera Software products will adhere to our vision - "the best Internet experience on any device". You will be a part of our skilled team of software testers and work closely together with developers and project managers to ensure that we can release all our products with the best quality possible.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively reporting defects and issues.
  • Tracking and following up on bug reports.
  • Product testing.
  • Writing test cases.
  • Direct communication and follow up with customers.
  • Writing documentation, such as test reports, etc.
  • Writing and executing test plans.

Requirements

Candidates should have knowledge and experience in several or all of the following areas:

  • Skilled in the (X)HTML, CSS, and ECMAScript Web standards.
  • Good working knowledge of English, written and spoken. Other language skills are a plus
  • Good knowledge of end-user browser behavior.

Ideals (one or more)

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be structured and able to work independently. Having the ability to quickly read up on new specifications and adapt and respond to changing customer requests is also important.
  • Experience with regards to quality assurance, test procedures, and software/product testing.
  • Experience with more than one operating system.
