At Opera, we're fighting for one web and open web standards, and we're looking for an enthusiastic, passionate individual to help us in this fight!

Requirements

This job involves providing support for Opera's developer customers and Opera's internal developers through community evangelism, developer outreach, networking, and feedback solicitation. These goals are to be achieved via travelling to web development conferences across the world to represent Opera, blogging, e-mail, article publication, and any other appropriate methods of communication. Preferably, the individual would also contribute to the growing dev.opera.com developer resource site, through writing and editing articles, and responding to forum posts. The applicant should possess the following skills:

  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in at least one of the following languages: Russian, Portugese, Polish, German, Spanish or Korean
  • Ability to learn quickly, apply knowledge appropriately and work without supervision.
  • Good familiarity with the web browser competitive landscape - Internet Explorer, Opera desktop, Opera Mini and Mobile, Firefox, Safari, other browsers.
  • Good knowledge of, and passion for, web standards (CSS and HTML, JavaScript preferred, but not essential) and the development community that surrounds them.
  • Good blogging, e-mail etiquette and diplomacy skills.
